Gobble, Gobble, RUN!!!!

Once upon a time in a very scary, very secluded town called Salem,

There live a school of some what Peaceful Turkeys.

They went to school everyday and always had fun together but that all changed when the Goblins attacked!

The Goblins were very big and scary creatures, they would steal the young turkeys lunch money and during a very peculiar time of the year they would go into the the turkeys school and take five chubby turkeys to eat. Now the Turkeys had a very stern and caring Principal named Mr. Turk who was sick of the Goblins eating his students so he called for a school wide meeting. At this meeting they decided they needed to get rid of the goblins and they knew exactly how they were going to do it......

To scare the Goblins away they decided they would all dress up as zombies and chase them all around. They even asked Santa if he could help them by playing along that the turkey zombies were eating him and his elf's. The plan was set into action, the week after the assembly they had all their make up done and had Santa cast a magical spell to make then look act and sound like real zombies.

And you know what happened next??? It all worked the Goblins got so frightened that they ran away screaming, I'm pretty sure they ran all the way to Hades den. Santa couldn't believe how well the turkeys did at acting like zombies he was even a little scared himself and once the turkeys changed back into regular little school turkeys they began to play and dance and sing knowing that the goblins would never be around for a very long time. And just knowing that they all live happily ever after.

The Battle rages on....

So seeing as how I was absent for almost all of this movie except for the last five minutes this assignment was very, very difficult I'm not really sure what happened in this movie but I will give it my best shot going off of what i have discussed with others in my English class.

In this movie I was told and I understand that they have played up the religious background by including the ancient Gods in there such as the god of war and fate but yet they still mention the "Holy God" and have priest come to rid the land of evil as well as participate in regular baptisms which is not part of the Pagan Anglo-Saxon time period.

From What I can tell they have changed the story line by turning Grendel into a Troll who seeks revenge for his fathers death. Grendel's father was murdered by warriors so Grendel only feels it is right for him to take the other warriors lives. They also added a which lady who Beowulf is fond of who turns out to be Grendel's lover and mother to Grendel's son. They also show Grendel tearing off his own arm and Beowulf as a humble person.

I think that by adding in the witch lady it made the story more interesting because everyone enjoys a little romance to an epic tale. I don't like how they made Beowulf humble because it suits him more to be puffed up and proud. I like how they portrayed the monsters as a more human like form because in a way it shows the evilness of man kind.

That is what I think of Beowulf. Hopefully I will be able to watch more of it on my own time.



Death by Water

I gasp for one more living breath
I'm alone no one can save me from the wave
It hits me like a car faster than death
I know I cant fight it, I must be brave
Fear sets into my unwanted chubby stomach
As water fills my swimmers lungs
I try to swim but my head begins to ache
My scream is like a last battle cry being sung
I feel my body hit the hard concrete land
All I am able to do to stay alive is twist and shout
I try to grab the ground about all i clutch is sand
Why wont this silly towering wave let me out
But At last I am finally about to be free
Why didn't this tumbling ocean just let me be.

I say NAY!

You Know what I don't understand, WAR!

Okay now to be quite frank with you all I don't like war for a couple of reasons. First it cost a lot of money that we don't have, second it usually ends up killing a bunch of innocent men and women and third its not the people who declare war that actually fight any more it the young men and women who have to settle and old mans problems.


 I believe that there is good and bad war. Good war is fighting to keep your loved ones safe from harm, Bad war is fighting for another mans own greed. I feel that the war that we have been fighting is a war of greed. I feel that it started off as a reaction to help protect America but over the past 10 years has become a war for another mans want for resources. I know that we have been able to do a lot for Afghanistan by helping them develop and some what prosper but at what cost have we done this?? over thousands of American soldiers and even a few American civilians have lost their lives, their wife's have become widows and their children are now fatherless all because of people who are in power feel they have the right to start wars with no thought of ending them.



I know that talking problems out has never worked but you wonder why should we fight for a cause that many Americans don't even believe in? Why should millions of tax payers dollars be put into a war many people do not support? I wish I knew the answers to these questions but I do not and even though there has always been some type of war in the world What would happen if we just stopped for one moment in the many hours we have on this earth and think what is war good for and why do we keep fighting??

Those darn Immigrant!

Nadia Habib a 19 year old girl from the Bronx is facing the biggest challenge of her life right now, She is being deported! 

I have read a few articles on this girls story and as heart breaking and sad as they are I just cant agree that letting her stay here is the best idea. It is not just because she is illegal but also because of the image letting her stay here illegally gives America. Heres what I feel is  most likely happening in the minds of many illegals as they are watching this story unfold "well if she doesn't have to go then I don't either, or since I'm in America I can get away with staying here because she was able to do it!" You know what I think, we should deport her and every other illegal immigrant who has been in this country for over a certain number of years and if they want to come back they should do it the LEGAL way! Its not fair to all those who are Americans that are missing out on opportunities because of illegal immigrants.


I once had a friend who was an illegal immigrant and he lived in American for quite a few years until he was deported back to where he came from. Three months later he facebooked me told me he was back and that he was now an American citizen! I don't see whats so difficult about doing the right thing! If you know you are illegal try to do something about it! in the link that i posted above it explains she became aware that she was not legal when she was a senior in high school. She is now a Junior in college and was finally caught in a situation that she could have avoided if she just right than and there when she found out tried to fix but instead she ignored the problem and hoped that it would just go away.


So if you really wanted my opinion well there you have it I don't hate immigrants I just feel that if they really want to be American citizens then they should do it the right way and not hide behind the governments protection and hope that they will be safe. America needs to stand up and stick with the laws that were made!
